Screen Size Comparison
Compare phones, tablets, laptops and monitors as proportional outlines — overlaid, side by side, or at true physical size on your screen.
Overlay, side-by-side or true physical size
Load common comparisons, then adjust the devices or add your own screen.
Add a device, your screen, or a custom size to compare physical screen area.
Why diagonal inches mislead
Screen sizes are quoted as diagonals, but what you actually see is area — and area depends on the aspect ratio too. A 6.9″ phone at 19.5:9 is narrower than a 6.5″ phone at 16:9 would be. That's why the visual comparison above matters more than the spec-sheet number. For the underlying figures, see the phone screen size chart.
Frequently asked questions
› How do I compare two phone screen sizes?
Search for both phones above and they'll be drawn as proportional outlines, overlaid or side by side. The table below the diagram shows the diagonal, width × height, area, and the percentage difference in screen area.
› What does true-size mode do?
After a 30-second calibration, devices are rendered at their actual physical dimensions on your display — you can literally hold a phone against the screen to compare. Browsers can't do this without calibration because they don't know your display's real size.
› Is a 6.7-inch phone much bigger than a 6.1-inch one?
More than the numbers suggest: diagonal grows linearly but area grows roughly with its square. A 6.7-inch phone of the same ratio has about 20% more screen area than a 6.1-inch one. Try both sizes above to see it.
› Can I compare a phone with my own screen?
Yes — click '⊕ Your screen'. Calibrate first if you want your screen's physical size to be exact rather than estimated.
