Where a 43″ fits
- 43" 4K = 102 PPI — the largest TV size that doubles as a desk monitor (110 PPI is the common office guideline).
- In an RV, dorm or kitchen viewed from 4-6 ft, a 43" screen fills 28-38° of your view — squarely inside the recommended 30-40° band.
- At 37.5" wide, it is the only mainstream size that fits standard 40" bedroom dressers.
Frequently asked questions
› Can I use a 43 inch TV as a computer monitor?
Yes, and it's the largest common TV size where that works well: a 43" 4K panel is 102 PPI, close to the 110 PPI office guideline, and pixels become invisible beyond 2.8 ft — about arm's length at a deep desk. Check text sharpness settings (4:4:4 chroma) on the specific model.
› Is 43 inches big enough for a living room?
Only for small rooms: the SMPTE 30° recommendation puts the couch at 5.8 ft, and past about 8.7 ft the picture drops under 20° and feels small. For an 8-10 ft couch, 55-65" is the better match.
› Is 1080p OK on a 43 inch TV, or do I need 4K?
At 6 ft or farther, 20/20 vision can no longer separate 1080p pixels on a 43" screen (the threshold is 5.6 ft), so for a bedroom watched from the bed, 1080p is genuinely indistinguishable. Closer than that — including desk use — 4K is visibly sharper.
› Will a 43 inch TV fit on a dresser?
Almost always: the panel is 37.5 inches (95 cm) wide, so a standard 40-inch dresser leaves about 1.2 inches on each side. Use the fit checker above with your furniture's width.
