The wide-end layout group continues
The new Pro Max stays with the previous Pro Max group. Reuse large-phone automation, then update the named-device screenshots and browser baselines.
iPhone 18 Pro Max: 6.9″ display, 1320 × 2868 resolution, 460 PPI, 440 × 956 CSS viewport at DPR 3. For responsive QA, iPhone 18 Pro Max is the current wide-end reference, not a replacement for smaller groups. Its value is validating wide composition while iPhone 18 Pro and the preceding Plus expose compression and intermediate-width assumptions.
/* iPhone 18 Pro Max — portrait reference, not a breakpoint */
viewport: 440 × 956 CSS px
panel: 1320 × 2868 · DPR 3
/* Test immediately below and above your layout breakpoints. */Use the 440 × 956 CSS px at DPR 3 as a real QA target, then pair it with nearby widths for regression testing.
Values marked official come from manufacturer specifications; calculated values are derived from them; reference values are developer layout references and can vary with browser, zoom and operating-system settings.

The same-generation Pro represents the narrower current group. Pairing both models reveals cards, navigation and modals that only appear stable because the wide reference has extra room.
The previous Plus sits between the standard and Pro Max groups. It is useful for max-width containers, two-column cards and horizontal controls near the large-phone transition.
The specifications below come from the device records; the notes explain why each comparison is useful.
