More physical area, unchanged CSS geometry
At the same reference dimensions, content, fonts and browser settings, the pair can share a layout-size check. The larger physical rectangle does not guarantee identical rendering on the two real devices.
Galaxy S25 Ultra: 6.9″, 1440 × 3120, 498 PPI, 384 × 832 CSS viewport at DPR 3.75. Its panel grows from the preceding Ultra while the tracked pixel grid, CSS canvas and DPR reference stay fixed. The physical display is larger, but these references do not add layout space.
At the same reference dimensions, content, fonts and browser settings, the pair can share a layout-size check. The larger physical rectangle does not guarantee identical rendering on the two real devices.
The Ultra is useful for expansive media and multi-column behavior, but it should not be used to approve compact navigation or dense forms by itself.
Worked example · reference dimensions
Relative to Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S25 Ultra has about 3% more ideal rectangular panel area. Its CSS reference changes by 0 in width and 0 in height.
Panel width and height come from the recorded diagonal and pixel aspect ratio; area is width × height. Both records have the same panel pixel dimensions and DPR reference. The physical and CSS groups use separate scales. Area growth is not a claim about the same percentage growth in text width or height. Rectangles exclude rounded corners and cutouts.
CSS canvas, DPR and workspace values are references, not manufacturer guarantees or live browser measurements. Matching references alone do not guarantee identical fonts, line breaks or rendering across real devices.
These are the dates of the recorded fact checks. A hardware specification source does not establish a browser viewport. Calculations and illustration assumptions are described above; no new device measurements are claimed.
The specifications below come from the device records; the notes explain why each comparison is useful.
| Device configuration | Matched to | Screen | Panel | Viewport / workspace | PPI |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S25 Ultra Current page | Galaxy S25 Ultra | 6.9″ | 1440 × 3120 | 384 × 832 | 498 |
| Galaxy S24 Ultra The predecessor demonstrates how identical layout-facing values can be presented on a smaller physical panel. | Galaxy S25 Ultra | 6.8″ | 1440 × 3120 | 384 × 832 | 505 |
| Galaxy S25 The base model provides the tighter same-generation boundary needed to expose compression and wrapping failures. | Galaxy S25 Ultra | 6.2″ | 1080 × 2340 | 360 × 780 | 416 |
/* Galaxy S25 Ultra — portrait reference, not a breakpoint */
viewport: 384 × 832 CSS px
panel: 1440 × 3120 · DPR 3.75
/* Test immediately below and above your layout breakpoints. */Use the 384 × 832 CSS px at DPR 3.75 as a real QA target, then pair it with nearby widths for regression testing.
Values marked official come from manufacturer specifications; calculated values are derived from them; reference values are developer layout references and can vary with browser, zoom and operating-system settings.
